Tragic suicide of talented girl aged 21 who could not get a job. But we are told we need immigrants to fill job vacancies

A young woman with a string of A-levels and GCSEs killed herself after unsuccessfully applying for more than 200 jobs, her heartbroken parents revealed last night.

Vicky Harrison, 21, had spent two years seeking work and felt that she had no future.

Before taking a huge overdose of pills she left notes for her family saying: “I don’t want to be me any more. Please don’t be sad. It is not your fault.”

The death of the “gorgeous girl with a stunning smile” who left school with three A-levels and 10 GCSEs came the day after she received yet another rejection letter.

It also followed figures showing that 2.5million people are unemployed – 929,000 of them in the 16 to 24 age bracket. Daily Express
